Home Harmony is Closing... For Now.

I’ve been dreading making this announcement.

Effective January 1st, 2021, Home Harmony closed its doors for the duration of the pandemic. This could be 6 months, it could be 2 years. We are not sure how long this virus will continue to wreak havoc, but we do know that once it is done, we will be right back to doing what we love. Helping our community through rough times is the heart and soul of our work.

Before our first closure in April 2020, we were working right beside our clients. We were there to assure them that their house isn’t a reflection of who they are and that it is normal to not have it all together all the time. We’d go through items together to see what could be donated and what could be proudly displayed. We’d connect over dirty dishes, laundry mountains, and floors that hadn’t been swept in months. We’d make eye contact, love on the pets together, and even hug sometimes!

When we reopened, things were different. We weren’t comfortable with working while others were in the home anymore. We essentially became maids. There was little opportunity to connect on that emotional level with our clients. Our work was isolating and didn’t fulfill our mission anymore.

Now, cases continue to rise to incomprehensible levels. So, our work is more dangerous, less fulfilling, and we aren’t making the impact we want to make in our community anymore. It only made sense to close our doors again until things clear up.

We have come up with guidelines for what “clear up” means, but we’re keeping those close to the chest just in case new scientific data comes out that changes our plans.

In the meantime, we will remain active on social media and continue to bring value by delivering helpful blogs to you once a month. If you would like to get notified for new blogs and see the announcement when we reopen, please be sure to sign up for our mailing list!

Thank you for all of the continued support. We appreciate our clients more than you could ever know. You are what fuels our passion. We’ll see you on the other side of this!
